Kentucky's US Senators Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell on Monday addressed the crowd at the Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention, taking place this week in Louisville.

Paul said there is an "over-eagerness" to be involved in every civil war on the planet, and that America shouldn't be sending aid to dictators, the Muslim Brotherhood, and nations that burn our flag.

McConnell said he's been working to reduce the backlog of VA disability claims, which he described as a "national disgrace." As of late March, about 70 percent of claims were pending longer than 125 days. But the department has taken steps to try to deal with the backlog.
