University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino says that would be the cowardly way out, in the wake of allegations that a former staffer provided escorts to have sex with Cardinal recruits.
Appearing on "The Terry Meiners Show" on Newsradio 840 WHAS, Pitino said, "what does it do for the program if the head coach just runs away?"
University President Dr. James Ramsey says he supports Athletic Director Tom Jurich, but offered no such support for Pitino, who says "that's something I cannot control."
