State Parks to Promote Education at Open House

Kentucky officials are planning an open house to promote the educational offerings at the state parks.

 

The July 15 event is aimed at educators across Kentucky.

 

Parks officials say the open house will be from 10:30 am to noon (local time) at 28 state resort parks, recreation parks and historic sites.

 

Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker says the event is a chance for educators to find out more about the educational offerings available at state parks. She says the parks offer overnight trips and day trips to school groups that introduce students to nature, culture and history.

 

Educators interested in attending are being asked to register by calling the park of their choice by July 9.

 

The open house will include park tours and explanations of overnight and day programs.
