There is little time left for Kentucky lawmakers to pass a stack of controversial bills before the legislative session ends on Tuesday.

Proposals still on the table include a measure to reform the state's underfunded pension system and legislation to legalize hemp farming.

Lawmakers also could try to override a gubernatorial veto. Citing concerns about civil rights protections, Gov. Steve Beshear shot down a bill to better protect people who claim the government infringes on their religious freedom. The Senate said it's prepared to override while the House is discussing what it will do.

Other bills include one to allow military members serving overseas to vote via email. The Democratic-led House also is trying to pass a redistricting plan that pits Republican against Republican in several districts.
