Charles Clayton Ruffin

Charles Clayton Ruffin, 85 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Countryside Center Nursing & Rehab in Bardwell, Kentucky.

Charles was born in Princeton, Kentucky on July 25, 1939 to the late Henry Everett Ruffin and Norma Gray Ruffin.  He spent over 30 years as an over the road truck driver for Matlack and was a teamster.  Charles served our country in the United States Army.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and farming cattle.  Charles was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.  

He is survived by his son, Douglas B. Ruffin and wife, Annette of Benton, KY; two daughters, Susan Webb, husband, Michael and Melissa Ruffin Hale, all of Bardwell, KY; sister, Mary Mitchell of Columbia, TN; six grandchildren, Major (Rome) Charles David Ruffin (Alyssa), Michael Ruffin, Brittany Baxter (Kevin), Kathleen White (Dominic), Clayton Hale, Peyton Rayeann Hale; five great-grandchildren, Aurelia, Aspen & Aviyana Ruffin and Brooks & Neely Baxter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen Coats Ruffin; two brothers, Henry Ruffin and Clinton Ruffin; sister, Shirley Ray; and his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Burnett officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
