John "Pop" Holland

John "Pop" Holland, 85 of Gilbertsville, KY passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.

Pop retired as the road supervisor for the Marshall County Road Department and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. 

Born Saturday, October 7, 1939 in Gilbertsville, KY, he was the son of the late Arlie Holland and the late Gola (Pace) Holland. 

He is survived by his son, Steve Holland wife Lisa of Calvert City, KY; grandchildren, Peyton Holland of Louisville, KY, Madison Edwards husband Travis of Benton, KY, Keaton Holland of Calvert City, KY; great grandchild, Kendall Edwards; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Wilma Sue (Shipman) Holland; his parents; and sister, Janice Howell.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lynn McWherter officiating. 

Interment will follow the service at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
