Mr. Hargis was a Carpenter for the Local Carpenters Union at TVA, a Veteran of the Army during the Korean War, member of Heartland Church of Paducah, Founding member of Balcoky Bowhunters, Kentucky Bowhunters Association, Lifetime member of NRA and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann (Sheible) Hargis; one son, Donald L. Hargis and wife Milly of Mayfield; one daughter, Sara L. (Hargis) Peeler and husband Jimmy of Paducah; four grandchildren, Wes (Tonya) Sullenger, Jacob (Angie) Hargis, Alicia (Joel Katzenberger) Hargis, Cody (Shery) Peeler; four great-grandchildren, Sage, Sayer, Bowie, Elijah; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Dennis Hargis, Thelma (Brooks) Hargis; one sister, Doris Helton.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Pastor Glen Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
