Joe H. McKendree

Mr. Joe H. McKendree, 78, of Murray, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Baptist Health in Paducah.

Joe was born on November 21, 1947 in Paducah, KY to the late Hayes and Lucille McKendree.  He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with family and friends and he served faithfully as a song leader for Blood River Baptist Church for many years. Joe will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob and Bud McKendree and three sisters, Mary Cope, Martha Almond, Charlotte Dever.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 34 years, Mrs. Kathy Dowdy McKendree of Murray; daughters, Tanya Munday (Jason) of Nashville, Kassia Tucker (Brian) of Murray; step son, Randall Argo (Jenn) of Murray; step daughter, Frosty Argo-Skimehorn (Ryan) of Madisonville; his brother, Arvil McKendree (Ruth) of Paducah; sisters, Donna Kay Scheffer (Mike) of Arkansas, Anna Lou McKendree of Paducah and six grandchildren, Brayden, Maddie, Karsyn, Chase, Bryson and Justin. 

A memorial service is set for 12 PM on March 28, 2026 at Blood River Baptist Church, State Highway 444, New Concord, KY 42076, with Jeff Norsworthy and Mike Scheffer officiating.  A meal will follow the service and all family and friends are invited.
