Bettye Harrison

On March 24, 1950 in a little house between Salem & Marion, KY, Bettye Lois Brannam was born to parents, Tommy & Charlene Brannam. When Bettye was just 14 years old, her mother passed away. Then at the age of 16, Bettye’s father passed away. Bettye attended Crittenden County Schools, graduating in 1968. In the fall of ’68, Bettye moved to Paducah KY to attend classes at Paducah Beauty School. In September 1968, she met a boy named Robert Harrison. One night at the swings in Bob Noble Park, Robert asked Bettye to marry him. On February 22, 1969, they married in Hickman KY, Robert’s hometown, where Bettye worked as a Beautician and Robert was a pastor and worked at the Carborundum Plant. They had two daughters, Robin and Andrea (Andie).   

In February 1989 they moved to Hickory KY for Robert to attend Mid-Continent Baptist Bible College. Bettye worked as the manager of the Venture Hair Salon and the WalMart Hair Salon. She also worked as a Cosmetology Instructor at Western KY Technical College and Ezelle’s Beauty School in Murray. In July 2005, they moved to Hopkinsville for Bettye to manage a Cosmetology School. In 2006, they moved to Madisonville KY where Bettye would manage Madisonville Beauty School and Robert was a pastor and worked at Carhart. In June 2014, Bettye and Robert moved back to Paducah where they had always dreamed of spending their retirement. They were faithful members of Bellview Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with their many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After 56 years of incredibly hard times and beyond blessed times, Bettye went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on May 4, 2025. She is survived by her husband Robert, her daughters, Robin Harrison and Andie (Brad) Byers. Her sister, Phyllis (Randy) Flahardy of Marion, KY. Her sister-in-law Donna Brannam of Salem, KY. Her grandchildren Rob Harrison, Corey (Audrey) Jones, Alexandria McManus (Greg), Abigale Byers (Blake), JonCade (Callie) Byers, Elizabeth Byers and Gabe Byers (Tori). Her great grandchildren Adisyn, Myles, Sadie, Kenzlie, Baylee, Leia, John Lewis and Luke and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Chuck Brannam.

Bettye’s Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 17^th at Bellview Baptist Church from 2:30pm to 5:30pm. Everyone is welcome to come visit with us as we celebrate and say our goodbye’s to one of God’s truest blessings, Daddy’s Wife and our Mama & Nanny.
