Barry Stephen “Steve” Kight, age 72, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on, Thursday, April 26, 2024, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Steve was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on August 14, 1951, to the late Roby Clarence Kight, Jr. and Arlene J. Kinder Kight. He honorably served as the president of People's Bank, a role in which he exemplified exceptional leadership and wisdom. Beyond his professional expertise, he was an avid golfer who enjoyed the sport for over three decades, blending his love for the game with a spirited competitiveness and camaraderie on the greens. Steve's entrepreneurial spirit shone through as the co-owner of the flourishing Kight Pecan Orchard. His civic engagement was no less impressive, evident in his valuable contributions as a board member on the Paducah-McCracken County Riverport Board. His life was a portrait of dedication and versatility, carving a legacy that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Nell Wallace Kight; his son, Barry Kight (Amy) of Paducah; his brother, Richard D. Kight (Linda) of Kevil, Kentucky; and his grandson, Tanner Kight.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Bro. Larry Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 29, 2024 at the funeral home.
