Brenda Faye Hancock, born on June 22, 1943, in McMinnville, Tennessee, to the late Clessie Leon and Alma Estelle Hagewood Bratcher, passed away on August 9, 2024, in Paducah, Kentucky. Known for her warmth and loving spirit, Brenda was a beacon of light to all who knew her.

Brenda dedicated countless hours to the Reidland Methodist Church as an active member, embodying the essence of community through her volunteer work. Her hands were seldom still, as she found joy in sewing, quilting, and lovingly tending to her flower garden, her skills in canning vegetables were unmatched. Affectionately known as 'Grannie' to all, Brenda's greatest pride was her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she showered with love and wisdom. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her nurturing presence will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by everyone blessed to have been part of her journey. Brenda’s legacy of kindness and care is a testament to a beautifully lived life.

Brenda is survived by two daughters, Beth (Ronnie) Benton of Searcy, Arkansas, and Deborah (David) Ward of Dallas, Texas; a son, Benjamin (Sarah) Hancock of Paducah; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) Andrews, Cameron Ringenberg, Alexandra Spugnardi, Keely Rose Spugnardi, Hannah (Jack) Jordan, Emma Ward, Joel Ward, Lauranna Hancock, and Lochlann Hancock; two great-grandchildren, Wallace Andrews and Brooks Andrews; two sisters, Karon Zimmerman of Clarksville, Tennessee and Sharon McGee of Lexington, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph Michael Hancock; a sister, Delores Peck, and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Katie Minnis officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
