Jack Rodney Leigh, 85 of Wickliffe, Ky passed away peacefully at 3:52 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. 
 
Born on February 6, 1940 in Blandville, Ky, Rodney was the son of William Jackson and Margaret Ruth Wallace Leigh. Rodney was a 1958 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School and was a master carpenter. He started his own general contracting business, Leigh and Associates,in 1997. Rodney was a member of LaCenter First Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he was involved in many areas of the church, one of the main areas which was overseeing the development and construction of the fellowship hall.
 
Rodney was an avid basketball fan who enjoyed watching his daughter play basketball
in the 1980s and his grandson in the 2010s. He was named the number one fan of Ballard Memorial High School basketball in 2023 and enjoyed attending games as often as he was able. Rodney loved Kentucky basketball and attended the KHSAA boys basketball tournament for many years with his grandchildren. Rodney loved working in his garden, fishing, rebuilding, creating, and tinkering with toys, but his favorite times of all were spent surrounded by his family.
 
Rodney is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen Mayetta Moss Leigh, his son Bruce Leigh and wife Teresa of Wickliffe, Ky; his daughter Trina Middleton and husband Bob of Kevil, Ky; son-in-law Larry Buchanan and wife Dwan; grandchildren Whitney (Dylan) Nichols, Kayla (Taylor) Kibler, Jay (Ami) Middleton, Logan (Laken) Leigh, and Sydney (Will) Stewart; great-grandchildren Hayden Nichols, Nora & Piper Kibler, Collin, Brady and Parker Middleton, and Layton Leigh;  sisters Martha Jo Ashley and Ronnie of Paducah, Ky; Bettye Polivick, of Henderson, Ky; and brother Clyde Leigh of Wickliffe Ky, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. 
 
In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda May Leigh Buchanan; sister Charlotte Nell Leigh Hall and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Inez Moss. 
 
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday morning after 9:30 a.m. until the service time of 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in LaCenter.
 
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in LaCenter with the Rev. Larry Buchanan and Rev. Taylor Kibler officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Blandville.
