Jerry W. Hayden, 68, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Mercy Health Lourdes.
Jerry was born on November 1, 1957, to the late George Weldon Hayden and Lorretta Campbell Hayden in Paducah, Kentucky.
Jerry spent much of his working life on the road as a truck driver, first with Tyson Foods and later with United Propane Gas. He took pride in his work and understood the importance of responsibility, reliability, and dedication.
Jerry had many interests that brought him joy. He loved to fish, and he found peace in the simple pleasure of time spent outdoors. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, appreciating the freedom of the open road and the excitement that came with it. In addition, he loved to cook, and he took pleasure in preparing good food for the people around him. These hobbies were more than pastimes, as they were ways he shared time, laughter, and fellowship with others.
Above all else, Jerry loved his family deeply. He treasured the people closest to him and took great pride in being part of their lives. He was known for his playful nature and his gift for making others laugh. As a jokester, he had a way of lightening the mood and bringing smiles to those around him. His humor, along with his generous heart, made him a beloved presence in the lives of many.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Trudy Collins Hayden; a sister, Claretta Malin of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George ‘G.W.’ Hayden, and his parents.
