Kathryn Copeland, aged 90, of Paducah, Kentucky, peacefully passed away at her home, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Kathryn was born in Paducah on Friday, October 27, 1933, to James and Mary Smith. Her long life has provided a legacy of nurturing love and an indomitable spirit. She was a devoted homemaker whose hands were rarely still. Her early career as a nurses’ aide at Western Baptist Hospital showcased her innate compassion and care for others. Later, Kathryn channeled her entrepreneurial spirit into a cherished family craft shop, enhancing the community with her creativity. She was a stalwart member of the Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church and found great joy in the fellowship of Gospel Mission Church. Through her diligent service and relentless kindness, Kathryn touched many lives. All who were fortunate to cross her path will deeply miss her warmth and guidance. Kathryn's memory will continue to inspire, leaving a tapestry of love and resilience woven into the fabric of our lives.

Mrs. Copeland is survived by her daughter, Nancy Brown of Panama City, Florida; her son, Terry Lynn Wilford (Cammie) of Boaz, Kentucky; her sister, Gerrie Sue Sexton (Bob) of Reidland, Kentucky; her brother, James Douglas Smith (Nancy) of Columbus, Georgia; her grandchildren, Billy Wilford (Stacey), John Waylon Hood (Beth), and Tara Meredith (John); nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her first husband, Billie Wilford; and her husband, Palmer Lee Copeland; her son Larry Dale Wilford; her parents, James Herman Smith and Mary Louise Scott Smith; her granddaughter, Tabatha Miller; her sister, Shirley Short.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. John Teodozow officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Burnetts Chapel Cemetery in Graves County, Kentucky.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the funeral home.
