Patsy Sue English DeJarnett

Patsy Sue English DeJarnett, born on September 14, 1931, in Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024, at Baptist Health of Paducah.

Patsy lived a fulfilling life as a cherished member of the Paducah community and was known for her unwavering faith and commitment as a long-standing member of the West End Baptist Church. She was a retired bookkeeper for Wagner Moving and Storage. Patsy’s passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her through the care and dedication she showed in her yard, a testament to her love for the beauty of nature. Above all, Patsy treasured the time spent with her family, whose lives were deeply enriched by her love, wisdom, and unwavering support.

Patsy is survived by a son, Jimmie Hooper of Paducah; a step-daughter, Cynthia Mason of Louisville; and two grandchildren, Trisha (Rene) Hwang and Matt (Tricia) Hooper; two great-grandchildren, Catelyn Hwang and Reece Hooper; and a great niece, Tracie (Chuck) Bing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold DeJarnett; her parents, Charles Harlan and Lottie Corinne Watkins Schaffer; her past husband, Andrew English; a daughter, Janice Nusekabel; and a sister, Anna Lou French.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Rev. Monty Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
