Sharon Kay Goins, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2024, at the age of 69, in her hometown of Paducah, Kentucky at Baptist Health Hospital. She was born on February 6, 1955 to William Harlan and Mary Frances Swartz Downs,
A devoted homemaker, Sharon poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming home for her loved ones. Her days were filled with the care and nurturing of her family, a role she embraced with grace and dedication. Sharon's home was not just a place of refuge but a hub of laughter and happiness, reflecting her ever-present smile and infectious laugh. Sharon's passion for the outdoors was evident in her beautifully tended garden, a riot of colors from the flowers she so lovingly cultivated. Her affinity for animals showcased her compassionate spirit, and her collection of cuckoo clocks was a charming quirk that brought whimsy into her home. Fishing was an opportunity for Sharon to revel in the serenity of nature and the joy of spending time with family. She was a member of Rosebower Baptist Church.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 53 years, David L. Goins of Paducah; three daughters, Teresa (Eric) Bottoms of Boaz, KY, Shanna Goins of Paducah and Lisa Tapscott of Paducah; one brother, David Downs of Paducah; four grandchildren, Kayla Buzanis, Jessica Downs, Katelyn Garland and Cameron Tapscott; one great-grandchild, Hudson Downs; two honorary grandchildren, Isabelle Burgess and Gavin Burgess, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Carol Sue Burgess and four brothers, Jerry Downs, Gary Dale Downs, Phillip Harlan Downs and Larry Edward Downs.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jim Greenwell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery in Paducah. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral of Paducah.
