Rogene Elizabeth Benjamin

Rogene Elizabeth Benjamin began her earthly life on Sunday, August 18, 1946, in Rockford, Illinois.  She was born to Richard Skelton and Theresa Allen Skelton who preceded her in death along with her brother, Richard Skelton and her sister, Jennifer Skelton.
 
Rogene, a homemaker, was formerly employed by the Veteran’s Administration in Battle Creek, MI.
 
Rogene was a loving person who would feed anyone and give the shirt off her back.  She loved unconditionally, providing good advice to individuals with a reassuring voice, often saying, “It’s going to be alright, baby.”  She was particularly fond of game shows and cooking shows, word search and crossword puzzles, and she loved to read.  Rogene had a gentle heart; however, she loved giving bear hugs because she wanted to feel the heart of the person. She always “Kept it real and was ‘100’ at all times.”
 
Rogene leaves to cherish her memory: Three Daughters, Lisa Benjamin of Minnesota, Robin Benjamin of Rockford, IL, and Shernaye Moss of Paducah, KY; One Son, Joe Benjamin, Jr. of Clinton, KY; Seven Granddaughters, Markeea Benjamin of Rockford, IL, Vanekia Webster, Brayona Moss, Britinie Moss, and LaTisha Benjamin, all of Paducah, KY, Cherika Benjamin of Rockford, IL, and Queashawnia Kendrick of Battle Creek, MI; Six Grandsons, Frank Benjamin and Antwon Caldwell, both of Rockford, IL, Kailo Benjamin of Kankakee, IL, DeVon Benjamin, Randale Kendrick and Anthony Benjamin, all of Battle Creek, MI; Several Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren; One Brother, Johnny Skelton of Battle Creek, MI; Several Cousins including the Ansler Family; and Many Friends.
 
Rogene Elizabeth Benjamin leaves a legacy of love and devotion to the lives she touched during her lifetime.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church.
