Goldie Lois Smith, 88, of Metropolis, departed this life October 8th, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital of Paducah. She was the daughter of Otto and Verna Lynn Wymer, born on July 19th, 1926.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Metropolis and retired from Sears,Roebuck & Co. While living in Michigan and New Jersey she received several awards in the jewelry department as top salesperson.
She is survived by one sister, Dorothy (Loren) Greene; four nieces, Judy (Jim) Friedl, Deborah (Charles) Marker, Connie (Todd) Douglas, and Pamela (Donnie L) Weaver; one great niece, Shawnie Weaver; and one great nephew, Dylan Douglas; and beloved friends, Joni and Meredith Hosman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Boyd Smith; and two brothers, Troy and Wilburn Wymer.
A memorial service will be Friday at 2pm at First Christian Church of Metropolis with Brother David Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Pell Cemetery in Brookport. Friends may visit at the church from 1:30pm until the funeral hour.
