Mildred L. Steinkamp, age 90 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 5:50 pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Pastor Tom Emmerson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mildred had worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory, was a seamstress, and a homemaker. She was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
Mildred is survived by daughter, Janice Bradford and husband Larry; son, Lloyd Steinkamp and wife Rachel; grandchildren, Alex Bradford and wife Emily, Whitney Bradford, Lucus Steinkamp and wife Megan, and Samantha McDowell and husband Joel; 6 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Maraline Meyer and LaNell Meyer; 3 nieces, Brenda Souders and husband Greg, Carolyn Sigman and husband John, Linda Braum and husband George; 1 nephew, Glen Meyer and wife Denise; several great and great great nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carrie (Brugger) Meyer; husband, Desso “Buddy” Steinkamp; 3 brothers, Leonard, Lawrence, and Harmon Meyer.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 6874 Midway Road, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
Pallbearers will be Lucus Steinkamp, Alex Bradford, Glen Meyer, Chris Meyer, Gene Tilker, and Derril Bremer.
