James “Jimmie” Fleming, 80, of Cunningham, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Mokena, Illinois.
Jimmie was born on November 10, 1938 in Cunningham to the late Beunos A Fleming and Jessie Mae Bobo Fleming.
Jimmie was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He enjoyed tending to his garden and being outdoors, but most of all he loved helping others and being a friend to everyone he met. Jimmie always wore a smile, called you by name, and always wanted to know if you were “doing okay.” He truly was one of a kind.
Jimmie is survived by his niece, Glenda (Tim) Staley; great nephews Shane and Kyle Staley; special friends Bobbie Puckett, Christa (Faron) Owen, Morgan Osborne; as well as many friends he made along the way.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene (Eulene) Fleming and Billy Ray Fleming, his parents, and his best friend, Rex Puckett.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Faron Owen and Bro. Tim Harvey officiating. Burial will follow the service at Old Mayfield Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church.
