James Tipton Thompson, Ph.D.

James T. Thompson, Ph.D., of Murray, died January 28, 2015 at his home.  

Mr. Thompson was born on April 23, 1941, to the late James Euel "Pat" Thompson and Larue Hendon Thompson and was of Church of Christ faith.

He received his Bachelor of Science from Murray State University, and a Masters and PhD from University of Kentucky in Animal Science.  He was also the president of Cogswell College in Sunnyvale, CA.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia King Thompson, Murray, to whom he married on June 8, 1963, two daughters, Lora Drose, Greg, Littleton, CO; Heather Thompson Adams, Scotia, NY; one sister, Nancy Thompson Jones, Nashville, TN; and three grandchildren.
