Kimberly Ann Phelps, 31 of Benton, KY died on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family of friends.
Love was her anthem and she sang it loud. She was kind, kind to everyone she met, no matter who they were or what journey they were on in life. From teaching kids in school, to coaching kids in weightlifting, to chasing her own dreams both with a barbell and not. She lived a life that was full of kindness and love.
She was born Monday, April 4, 1988 in Benton, KY to Tim Turner and Angie Miller. Kim got her Bachelors Degree in Education at Murray State University. She then got her first Masters Degree in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and her second Masters Degree in Library Sciences. She was a Spanish Teacher at Marshall County High School.
She is survived by her husband of 7 years, Doug Phelps of Benton, KY; her parents, Tim Turner wife Pam of Draffenville, KY, and Angie Miller of Calvert City, KY; a brother, B.J. Traylor wife Amy of Georgetown, KY; sister, Amber Evans husband T.A. of Benton, KY; grandparents, Damon and Ann Turner; grandmother, Doris Ann Bolte Miller and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Bobby Miller and cousin Josh Shelbourne.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Collier Funeral Home, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the service time of 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home.
