Mavis Jean Golightly, 86 of Benton, KY died on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. She was a retired Nurse's Aide for Marshall County Long Term Care and a member of Fairdealing Church of Christ.
Born Thursday, August 2, 1928 in Marshall Co., Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Bern Lovett and the late Lalah (Hill) Lovett.
Surviving are son, Russell Holley of Benton, KY, daughters, Cheryl Cope of Benton, KY and Connie Lamb of Benton, KY, step-sons, Gerald Powell of Benton, KY, Ronald Morton of Benton, KY, Don Golightly of Russell, KY; step-daughters, Joan Jones of Benton, KY, Latricia Cox of Symsonia, KY, Gloria Barger of Elizabethtown, KY; brothers, Leon Lovett of Benton, KY, Pat Lovett of Benton, KY and Joe Lovett of Mayfield, KY, sisters, Mildred Crouse of Kirksey, KY, Kitty Cope of Benton, KY and Betty Henson of Benton, KY; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren; 32 step great grandchildren; and 8 step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Nathan Holley, second husband, Quinten Powell, third husband, Nicklas "Willard" Morton, and fourth husband, Fred Golightly; daughter, Glenda Thompson, brothers, Hill Lovett, Roy Lovett, and Wayne Lovett, sisters, Mary Nimmo and Madelene Collie.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Jim Faughn officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Collier Funeral Home.
