Mrs. Barbara Ann Vasseur, age 82 of Calvert City, KY passed away Monday, August 26, 2019, at her daughter's home. She was a retired Registered Nurse and member of the KY Association of Nurses. She was a dedicated military wife and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 236 in Calvert City, KY, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Calvert City Eastern Star. Mrs. Vasseur was a member of the Calvert City Church of Christ.
Born Monday, February 8, 1937 in Boaz, KY, she was the daughter of the late Rudy H. Beard and the late Catherine Pauline (Davis) Beard.
Surviving are daughters, Linda Gaddis of Benton, KY, Kim Rogers, husband Jeremy of Zalma, MO, Carol Scanu of Viareggio, Italy, sister, Carolyn Kirk of Lawrenceburg, TN, 7 grandchildren; Matteo Scaneu, Guilia Scanu, Michele Scanu, Gia Bathory, Alexs Snelling, Luke Sweeney, Moriah Davis, and 4 great-grandchildren; Steele Hunt, Lydia Hunt, Bella Voss, Sophie Katheryn Vasseur.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Roy D. "Lane" Vasseur; brothers, James Beard and Kenneth Rudell Beard, grandchild, Anna-Maria Danielle Shane and great-grandchild, William Stone Mills.
A Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025.
Interment followed in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
