Billy Keith Martinie, 93, of Bardwell, KY, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Southgate Nursing and Rehab Center in Metropolis, Illinois.
Bill was a member of the Mississippi Baptist Church. He worked for Wagner Electric in St. Louis, MO as an Electrical Job Estimator. He was a member of the VFW Post 1889 in Paris, Tennessee. He loved to play golf and was a member of the American Bowling Congress as well as the Mayfield Bowling League. Bill was a World War II Veteran. He proudly served in the Navy on the USS West Virginia in the South Pacific.
Bill is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary Sue Hogancamp Martinie, step-daughter Cynthia Morgan O’Neill of Paducah; three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard Martinie and Alice McGary Martinie Hill; first wife, Nelleta Price Martinie; step-daughter Lisa Morgan Babb and three sisters; Breta Jeffries, Theta Nicholson and Jean Hutchinson.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mounds City National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois with Rev. Shane Davenport officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on July 5, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
