They raised their two daughters in Michigan where Bob worked for 27 years as a licensed insurance agent with National Life/AIG Insurance Company. After retiring from the insurance business he had a second career with Dreisbach and Sons where he sold cars for 9 years and fulfilled a childhood dream of owning a Cadillac.

Upon retirement Bob and Barbara moved to the Kenlake area where Barbara had been raised. They became members of Union Ridge Baptist Church where Bob served as the Outreach Director. They were married for 50 years.
