Mr. Freddie Lynn Poe born on October 9, 1939 was welcomed Home on June 30, 2019.

Freddie worked in the car industry for over 55 years. During that time, he owned car dealerships in Benton, Kentucky and Paris, Tennessee. The car industry took him to Michigan, Colorado, California, and Florida among other places. The car business always kept him on the go, and he thrived on it.

He is survived by his children, Tim Poe, Andrea (Joel) Barrett, and Dondra (Paul) Hackney and five grandchildren: McKinzie and Grant Hackney, Bella and Eilzabeth Barrett, and Max Poe. In addition, two step-brothers survive: Mr. Conard Newton and Mr. Jimmy Newton. His favorite Granddog, Gidget Girl, also survives.

Mr. Poe was preceded into death by wife, Treasa Ann (Brien) Poe, father, Claude W. Poe, mother and step-father, Altha and Clarence Newton, and infant son, Jonathan Mark. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Elder Robert Chandler will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.

The family would like for donations be made in his name to New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Cheryl Beasley, 2871 Griggstown Road, Calvert City, KY 42029 or to the Buddy Poe Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Marshall County Board of Education, 86 High School Rd., Benton, KY 42025.
