Joan Daisy Jones, age 81, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away at 8:52 A.M. on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at her residence.
Joan was born on October 12, 1937 in Lockhaven, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Miller and Charlotte Jones. She was a member of First Baptist Church Benton. She loved and adored all of her dogs. She will be remembered as a spitfire, strong willed, tough as nails woman who had a loving and caring side to those she held close.
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Rotz of Benton; two sons, Carlton “Pete” Barrett and wife, Teresa, of Benton and Scott Barrett, Sr. and wife, Myriam, of Murray; step-son Mike Jones of Paducah; one sister, Deanna Like, of Cape Coral, Florida; three brothers, John Miller, Rick Miller, and Steve Milller, all of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Sampson Barrett, Jason Godown, Scott Barrett, Jr., Cory Barrett, Traci McBride, Jenifer Decker and Martin Rotz II; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family would also like to thank Shayne Wilkins and wife, Robin, for all the care they showed their mother over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Jones; a son, Esley Barrett III; her parents; and brother, Dean Miller.
A private family service for Joan will be held at a later date.
