Burnham, Lilda


Mrs. Lilda Burnham, 78, of Murray, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Burnham was born in Sullivan, KY on February 21, 1941 to the late A.A. and Edith Brown Gibson. She earned degrees from both Bethel College in Hopkinsville, KY and Murray State University. Mrs. Burnham taught special education for many years in KY. After retiring from the Crittenden County School System, she found her second calling. Raised in Christian faith and following the footsteps of her father, became an ordained minister in Yuma, AZ. There she was able to teach once again. Lilda was a loving mother who raised her children in a musical household. She and her husband Mike attended Murray Family Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Loiste Gibson, Lendel Gibson and Lestus Gibson as well as one sister, Lorene Gibson. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mike Burnham of Murray; two sons, Perry Morris (Mitzi) of Charlotte, NC and Darren Morris (Rondell) of Herrin, IL; a daughter, Kate Burnham of Florida; four grandchildren, Bob Burnham, Hunter Morris, Ivie Morris and Dawson Morris, as well as, her former husband, Everett Morris.
