Ozzie R. Tapscott, 74, of Lone Oak, KY died Friday, August 22, 2014, at 4:45 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital. Ozzie was a member of Broadway Church of Christ and a graduate of Lone Oak High School in 1959. Ozzie enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and was a long time member of Father/Son Hunting Club. He was a member of J-MACK COOKERS, and enjoyed being a part of their barbeque team. Ozzie was an avid fan of University of Kentucky Basketball. Mr. Tapscott was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed as an electrician through IBEW local 816.
Survivors include his wife of 5o years, Nancy Craver Tapscott, one daughter, Laura Tapscott Wagner, Eddyville, KY; one son, James Richard “Jay” Tapscott and wife Michelle of Gilbertsville, KY; one sister, Frances Henderson, Paducah, KY; three brothers, John Jackson Tapscott, Phoenix, AZ, Shelton Tapscott, Paducah, KY and Marvin Tapscott, Melber, KY; six grandchildren, Christy Wagner Milo (Mike), Brianne Wagner York (Jereme) Nathan Tapscott, Olivia Tapscott, JonMichael Tapscott and Ford Tapscott; four great-grandchildren. Kaea York, Brylee York, Quintin Milo and Ansley Milo and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was his parents. Milton Joseph Tapscott and Fannie Frances Ford Tapscott.
Services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dan Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery with Military rites. Friends may call on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until service time of 3:00 p.m.
