Paul Philbee, age 82, of Calvert City passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Paul was born on October 22, 1937 in Peoria, IL to the late Paul Philbee Sr. and Catherine Durr Philbee. He retired from Mobile Chemical in Macedon, New York as a scheduler. He was a veteran of the Air Force and served in the Korean War.
Paul was a member of the Marshall County Rotary Club and president of the Sodus, New York Rotary Club. He was a member of the Sodus United Third Methodist Church and Benton First United Methodist Church. His hobbies included collecting stamps and Nascar. He loved to serve and would be the first to volunteer for fundraisers such as the Radio Auction for the Marshall Co. Rotary Club. Paul was a people person, outgoing, friendly and could carry on a conversation with anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gail Finley Philbee of Calvert City; his daughter, Jennifer Symonds (Darrin) of Belleville, IL; four sons, Paul Philbee III (Kelly) of Oscoda, MI; Timothy Philbee (Joan) of Calvery City, KY; Eric Philbee (Robin) of Wolcott, NY; Jamie Philbee (Betty) of Wolcott, NY; fourteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dolores Lovett and Shirley Wheeler.
A memorial service for Paul will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Benton First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Russell officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. service time on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Benton First United Methodist Church.
