Ruth Miller, age 92, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away at 6:44 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Lakeway Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Ruth was born on October 29, 1926 in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Clyde and Mamie Glover Thompson. She was a member of Hamlet Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Melissa Dowdy, of Pleasant View, Tennessee, Barbara Ray, Janice Miller and Sharon Downing, all of Benton; her son, Leonard Miller III, of Benton; ten grandchildren, Allison Ray, Lynn Lane, Julie Todd, Jacqueline Lewis, Stephanie Ives, Whitney Tolbert, Justin Downing, Delaney Dowdy, Reese Dowdy and Jessie Griggs; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Miller, Jr.; her parents; five sisters, Mae Collins, Mildred Holbrook, Mary Sue Dailey, Bessie Stacey and Ithel Sloan; two brothers, Frank Thompson and David Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr with Bro. Glenn Cope officiating. Burial will follow at Hamlet Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
