He was born March 1, 1937 in Kirbyton, KY. Chuck was a 1956 graduate of Cunningham High School, Cunningham, KY and a 1960 graduate of Murray State University. Mr. Hobbs was a retired mechanical engineer from Martin Marrietta (USEC) of Paducah after 30 years of service. As an active member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, Chuck generously volunteered his time.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Samples Hobbs and two daughters Belinda McGee and husband Rick of Murray, KY and Monica Kelsey and husband Bret of Chicago, IL. He is survived by four grandchildren, Daniel and Nicole McGee of Murray and Ryan and Natalie Kelsey of Chicago and three sisters, Anna Hobbs Jones and husband Jesse of Sedalia, KY, Martha Hobbs Moore and husband Jim of Cunningham, KY and Doris Hobbs Williams of Murray, KY and his sister-in-law Ruby Hobbs of Bardwell, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Phineas and Gazelle Hobbs and one brother, Julian Peck Hobbs.
Funeral services for Charles Hobbs will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Revs. Dan Summerlin and Mike Williams officiating with burial to follow in the Kirbyton Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5:00 PM Wednesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
