Donald “Donnie” McConnell, age 80, of Arlington, Ky passed away at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, on Saturday September 16, 2017.
He worked for Illinois Central Railroad as a switchman before entering the United States Marine Corps. He later worked for and retired from Harris County Social Services in Texas as a business administrator. Donnie also worked for AFCO Insurance Company and attended Arligton United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Bradley of Paducah, Pattie Love and husband, Roger of Manuel, TX, Nancy Lilie and husband, Michael of Pearland, TX, and Shelia Tiberi of Dawson Springs, KY; sisters, Mary Bell Fowler of Corpus Christie, TX and Dixie Lee Ferguson of Arlington, KY.; ten grandchildren, Rebekah Wilson, Christina Chittenden, Jennifer McGary, Robert Bradley, Barbie Love, Jimmy Love, Kristen Clark, Amber Lilie, Joey Tiberi, Sara Tiberi; nine great grandchildren, Maddy Bradley, Liam Chittenden, Emma Chittenden, Kaler Chittenden, Rhyleigh Wilson, Ethan Wilson, Evan Clark, Madison Marsh, and Deklyn McGary.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Barbara Hundt McConnell; his parents, Robert Frasier McConnell and Dixie Beasley McConnell; brother, Robert McConnell.
Services will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Arlington on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in Arlington Cemetery. Rev.Keith Osborne will officiate. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the funeral home.
