Donald Edward Bandman, 71, of Paducah, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 11:23 pm at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Don was born in Waukegan, IL on August 12, 1946 to Adolph Julius and Sylvia Elizabeth (Millasnoori) Bandman.  A veteran of the United States Navy, Don served honorably during the Vietnam conflict.  After his military career, he served as a Contracting Officer for the Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois.

Don can best be remembered as a committed Christian.  He met his wife and soul mate, Beverly Carol (Farmer) Bandman at Heartland Church before moving their membership to Southland Baptist Temple where he served as an usher and door greeter.  Both Don and Beverly loved gospel music and frequented many gospel concerts in their free time. Aside from his faith, Don can also be best described as a loving caregiver, taking care of both his parents and his disabled brother, Richard, before their passing.  He also loved to bowl and was always ready to play a game of Hearts with friends or his favorite computer game, “Bookworm” in his free time.

Don is survived by his wife of nine years, Beverly Bandman; one step-daughter, Tricia Sirls and husband, Robert of Nashville, TN; one step-son, Gregory Evans and wife Lori of Evansville, IN; three brothers, John Bandman of Wadsworth, IL, Gerry Bandman and wife Sandy of Antioch, IL and Jim Bandman of Waukegan, IL., special cousins Patti and Fred, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Sylvia Bandman and three brothers, Art, Bob and Richard Bandman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Southland Baptist Temple at 1 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2017 with the Rev. Jimmy Franks and Rev. F. Wayne Carter officiating, and special music by the Covenant Quartet. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday at the church.

Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah is in charge of the arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy can be made in the way of donations to Southland Baptist Temple at 927 Yarbro Lane Paducah, KY 42003 or Wounded Warrior Project.
