Irene Christine Perkey, 63, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Friday, April 27, 2018 at Baptist Health – Paducah.
Irene was born in Chicago, IL on November 27, 1954.
Irene was brave and fought hard against her cancer. Unfortunately her body could no longer hold her beautiful soul and spirit. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Lacy Perkey Podgers and husband Thomas of Plainfield, IL, Shanna Perkey Rod and husband Lance of Marseilles, IL, and Brittany Perkey Lindberg and husband Ross of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Kaylee Podgers, Amelia Podgers, Chase Rod, Mason Rod, and Lily Lindberg; one god-daughter, Loretta Mroczka; one sister, Ann Vajgert of Oaklawn, IL; and the father of their children, Steven Perkey of Roselle, IL.
Preceding her in death were her father, Jozef Mroczka; mother, Mary Zen Swiderski; and brother, Ladek Walter Mroczka.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Chicago, IL.
