Leon Addison, age 78, of Paducah, formerly of Harleyville, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, 3:30 p.m., at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was an associate pastor of Just By Faith Ministries in Metropolis, IL, where he also served on the Trustee Board, the Outreach Ministry, and in building maintenance. He was certified in architectural design and was a retired superintendent of Coward and Hund Construction Company.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald R. Addison of Metropolis, IL and Mitchell Lee Addison of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Gwendolyn Leonor Addison Duncan of Paducah and Diandre’ N. Addison of Columbia, SC; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Addison, Sr. of Harleyville, SC; three sisters, Pauline Lewis of Dorchester, SC and Willie Mae Weldon and Lottie Stevens, both of Harleyville, SC; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose Addison and Claudia Nimmons Addison; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services haven scheduled for Sunday, November 18, 2018, 6:00 p.m. at Just By Faith Ministries in Metropolis, Illinois. Reverend Gwendolyn Addison Duncan and Reverend Michael Wade will officiate.
Friends may also call at the church on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
A second service and burial will follow on Saturday, November 24, 2018, in the Dorchester, SC.
