Marjorie Yancy

Marjorie was born on December 10, 1923 in Caskey, Kentucky to parents Laura Mai Claxton Conway and Elzie Conway. She moved to Paducah in 1938 where she met Roy Yancy. Marjorie graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School in 1942. Roy and Marjorie were married in 1942 before he went to service for the US Navy. She lived in Los Angeles California during that time where she attended business school.  She passed away at 8:55 am on Tuesday November 6, 2018 at Massac Memorial Hospital.  
  
They had 3 children: Mike Yancy, Steve Yancy of Louisville, and Nathan Yancy of Paducah. Marjorie has two grand-children – Emily Yancy Brown (husband Glenn Brown) of Louisville; and Laura Yancy of Louisville; two great grand-children, Olivia Brown and Gracelyn Brown. She has been a member of Concord Methodist Church since 1974. Marjorie was an avid reader and loved the Sue Grafton book series; she loved bird-watching; and enjoyed seeing new photos of her great-granddaughters on Facebook. Years ago she was very proud of her vegetable garden she and Roy tended. She enjoyed 65 great years of marriage, health, happiness, family, and good friends. 

Funeral services for Marjorie will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Dean Emerson officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.  

Visitation for Marjorie will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday November 9, 2018 at the funeral home.
