Stella Whetstone

Stella Whetstone, age 95, of Paducah, KY passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at her residence.

Stella was born on October 11, 1923 to the late Louis and Martha Hertlein.  She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, a homemaker, and an extraordinary seamstress who made amongst other items, wedding dresses.   She will be remembered fondly as someone who was very intelligent, quiet, was a great saver of money,  and not pretentious.

Stella is survived by her son, Roger Whetstone and wife, Glenda of Paducah, KY; her sister, Lyndell Brennan of Portludlow, WA; six grandchildren, Chrissy Wallace of Paducah, Johnna Kosechata of Broken Arrow, OK, Nanci Gamblin (Mark) of Clarksville, TN, Tanja Krup (Willy) of Mt. Carmel, IL, Shane Whetstone (Diane) of Mt. Carmel, IL and Jimmy Whetstone (Lindsey) of Brooklyn, NY; and seventeen great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Whetstone; her parents; one daughter, Fran Baldwin; three sisters, Betty Comer, Cuma Weigle, and Louella Fern Bingman; and two brothers, Bob Hertlein and Lewis Ray Hertlein.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes with Rev. Roger Whetstone officiating.  Burial will follow at Stokes Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, October 29, 2019 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes.
