Van (Carl) Roach III, 48, of Paducah died at 8:22 a.m. Saturday at Lourdes Hospital.

Mr. Roach was a former security guard and volunteer firefighter. He was a member of Highview Baptist Church of Paducah.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Nichols Roach; three sons, George Roach of McClure, IL, Shawn Roach and Ray Smith, both of Paducah; two brothers, Gary Dale Parrish of Caseyville, IL and James Roach of Paducah; two sisters, Mary Cochrum and Sheila Brantner, both of Paducah; one granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Carleton Roach Jr. and Zelda Shumaker Lyell.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. Danny Cox and Jewell Warford officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
