The Murray State men's basketball team wrapped up the 2014-15 season Monday at the annual awards banquet in the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.

The event served as the perfect occasion to celebrate a record-breaking season and to honor a senior class that led the Racers to the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament and a CIT title a year ago.

A special farewell was also given to Cameron Payne who is leaving the Racers after two seasons to enter the NBA Draft.

The Popeye Jones Mr. MSU Award was given to Payne. The award named after MSU's all-time rebounder, goes to the student-athlete who displayed excellence in all areas, on and off the court. Payne was an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America and Ohio Valley Conference MVP. CollegeInsider.com also named him the Lute Olsen National Player of the Year.

Named after MSU's all-time scorer Jeff Martin, Sr., The Martin Class & Character Award is earned from great play and leadership. Jeffery Moss was given the award after he turned in an outstanding junior season.

The Garrett Beshear Defensive Award is named after one of the greatest defenders in MSU history, Jonathan Fairell.

The Racer Hustle Award was given to T.J. Sapp for his tremendous leadership and effort as the Racers went 29-6 and won their 24th OVC Championship.

Jarvis Williams was honored for his 1,000 career points.

A video, produced by Matt Hall, was played and it featured all of the great moments of the season.

The Racers' OVC regular season championship banner was unveiled from its place in the rafters of the CFSB Center. The banner was earned when the Racers went undefeated in OVC play for the first time in school history at 16-0. Along the way, the Racers set the school and OVC record with a 25-game winning streak, the second-longest in the nation this season.
