Graves County High School senior Allye Darnell recently signed a letter of intent to play soccer at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Ala., a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II school.
A four-year member of the Lady Eagle team, she played primarily as a striker and center back. The Wingo resident is the daughter of Craig Darnell and Zan Nance and the stepdaughter of Rodney Nance. Allye Darnell was a member of the First Region champion Lady Eagles in 2016.
She was named the regional tournament’s most valuable player as well as a member of the All-Region first team and the All-State second team. In 2015, she was named to the All-Region first team and the All-State second team. She also was named to the 2013 and 2014 All-Region teams. Pictured seated next to her are her father and mother.
