Adopt your ducks for 12th Paducky Derby coming Oct. 24

This year's 12th annual Paducky Derby is getting closer to splash down at Noble Park on Saturday, Oct. 24.

This year's goal is to have all 15,000 ducks adopted by the time they're poured into Montgomery Lake for the race for prizes, when three ducks will be drawn out and cash prizes of $2500, $1000 and $500 are awarded.

As of this week, more than 8,600 ducks have been claimed, nearly 60 percent of the total flock.

As always, the Paducky Derby benefits the work of The Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center, a nonprofit organization that offers outreach services to victims of domestic abuse.

Adoption is underway online, where you can adopt a single duck for five dollars, a "quack pack" of 6 for $25, or a flock of 12 ducks for $50. You can also arrange to form a team at your work, school, or church with your own adoption goals.
