Hundreds of jeeps are expected to climb the hill to Bald Knob Cross of Peace for their own annual event on Saturday.
The annual Blessing of the Jeeps is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Organizers say there will be blessing prayers at 9:30 a.m. and noon, plus, food trucks, merch and collector’s items. The event is free for families, no registration required.
Last year about 300 Jeeps, and an even larger number is anticipated this weekend.
People do not even have to own a Jeep to attend. Some attendees reportedly take part with toy Jeeps, motorcycles or even horses.
Just last month, Bald Knob's annual Blessing of the Bikes drew more than 2500 motorcycles to the cross.
Alto Pass is located in Union County, about five miles northwest of Cobden.
