Campbell Animal Cruelty Case Continued to April 27A man facing dozens of counts of cruelty to animals was in court Tuesday.
The McCracken County Circuit Court clerk said 66-year-old Harold Campbell's case was continued to April 27.
Campbell is facing 51 counts of second-degree cruelty to animals related to the search of a home in October of 2019. The investigation uncovered more than four dozen Chihuahuas living in poor conditions. Some of the animals died.
Additionally, Campbell faces two counts of contempt of court after failing to appear on the charges last fall.
His daughter, Jennifer, pleaded guilty to similar charges in August and was sentenced to 11 months in jail on the animal cruelty charges and a year on failure to appear charges.
The McCracken County Humane Society was able to nurse the surviving Chihuahuas back to health and found homes for them all.
