Mayfield's new Dunbar Park opens Friday

The city of Mayfield will have grand opening this Friday for the new Dunbar Park, a project that came out of rebuilding from the 2021 tornado.

The 4-acre park at 631 S. 12th Street will be a new gathering place for the community that will feature two regulation-sized basketball courts, children's playground, adult workout equipment, patio grills and permanent cornhole boards.

There'll also be a large pavilion with seating and internet available. The facilities will commemorate the old Dunbar School.

The grand opening will take place at 11 a.m. Friday.
