3-story building collapses in Cairo

A three-story brick building in Cairo collapsed on Tuesday. 

The collapse occurred about 6 p.m. on Cairo's main street of Washington Avenue, or US 51. The unoccupied building formerly housed the Big River Resale business.

Bricks covered the front sidewalk and curb after the collapse, but no injuries were reported.

The Cairo fire chief said the collapse was likely due to the age of the building.
