Graves County Schools announced this week they recently broke ground on a new multipurpose athletic facility.

The new 40,000 square foot facility will be located behind the football stadium and beside the soccer field.

The school district said it will serve the district in several different capacities as the floor plan includes practice areas for all athletic programs with a gym, turf field, batting cages, and golf facilities. It also includes an open multi purpose room to accommodate other student programs such as archery, JROTC and the marching band.

They said the building will also be used for hosting small events.

Part of the need for the multipurpose athletic facility is to help with the current limited availability of space many of the athletics, clubs and organizations face.

The Graves County Multipurpose Athletic Facility is projected to be finished in the fall of 2026.
