Warm and wet is the overall description of this week's weather.
Cooler temperatures are forecast for Sunday and Monday, but after that, well above normal temperatures are forecast for the remainder of this week, and above normal temperatures likely to continue into the second week of March.
Paducah's average high for the first week of March is 55 degrees, and the average low is 35.
There is a good chance of precipitation across the Quad State tonight. North of I-64 could actually see a little snow mix in.
We'll shift into a more unsettled weather pattern with the week's warmup, including near daily chances for rain. The total rainfall this week through next Tuesday, March 10, could exceed three inches in southern Illinois and southeast Missouri, which would go a long way to easing some abnormally dry soil conditions in our area.
