Governor Andy Beshear on Thursday appointed Michael Boyd “Bo” Stacy II of Cunningham as Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 1st Judicial Circuit of Kentucky.

Bo Stacy takes over for his father, Michael B. Stacy who died in a car crash in April. Bo was also injured in the crash.

Carrie Ovey-Wiggins has served as the interim commonwealth's attorney since the elder Stacy's death.

Stacy II graduated from Heath High School, and from law school at the University of Kentucky. He has served as assistant Commonwealth's attorney in the circuit since 2020.

The 1st Judicial Circuit serves Ballard, Carlisle, Fulton and Hickman counties.
